INSTITUTION COMPARISON OF DISTANCE EDUCATIONSchlosser & Simonson (2009), define distance education as, “institution based, formal education where the learning group is separated, and where interactive telecommunications systems are used to connect learners, resources, and instructors.” Additionally, Simonson, et al (2009) contend that an online course is one where majority of the content is delivered online, which means at least 80% of the course content is presented online.
This particular project explores the course offerings currently available in the online settings at 5 different learning institutions. The idea here is to compare and learn how different universities are handling online courses. |
