LSTE 7320-Implementation of the ADDIE Model

Picture
The ADDIE Model is a five-step instructional design and project management tool borrowed from the field of human performance technology that has withstood the test of time and use.  The acronym "ADDIE" stands for Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate and is commonly used to develop, implement, and evaluate performance improvement services. It is simply a "device" to help us think through a course's design.

This paper describes how I would use the ADDIE model to implement a new parking ambassador training model at UAMS.

LSTE 7311-Dick and Carey Model

Picture
The Dick & Carey Systems Model of Instructional Design is a step-by-step guide of how to deliver educational content.  This systems approach model incorporates 10 interrelated parts, which depend upon each other, and offer feedback for each other to accomplish an educational goal or set of goals. Based on many years of research, learning theory, and practical experience, the Dick & Carey Model is used to plan, design, implement, and evaluate instruction.

This plan displays how I would teach chapter 5 (Analyzing Learners and Contexts) from: Dick, W., Carey, L. & Carey, J. O. (2015). The systematic design of instruction (8th ed.). Upper Saddle River, NJ: Pearson.

LSTE 7317-EDUCATIONAL APPLICATION REVIEW AND PLAN

Picture
The number of mobile apps are increasing daily, and the app stores themselves are not known for making it easy to find the best apps.  Given the aggressively expanding app market, how can anyone make knowledgeable decisions in their search for a "good" app? Defining what makes an app good varies, depending on the audience and purpose/need.

This is a set of guidelines I developed for reviewing educational mobile applications.

Also, attached is a review of the mobile app Socrative and how I would incorporate it into a short instructional plan for golf lessons.

LSTE 7311-An Overview of Gustafson and Branch’s Classification of ID Models

Picture
An instructional design model is the place to start—it is a framework that helps guide the structure of a course and leads the learner to a topic that provides focus while removing distractions but still allowing a learner to take control.

Gustafson and Branch (2002) proposed a taxonomy of ID models with three classifications: Classroom-oriented, Product-oriented, and System-oriented.  Attached is a paper I wrote that gives an overview of the three classifications.
